Senior Home Care Services Continue to Grow

A Family Member HomeCare

The senior home care services sector has experienced consistent growth in recent times, and this is a trend that shows no signs of letting up. According to the latest jobs report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the numbers of jobs in the home healthcare sector continues to increase at a remarkable rate.
The jobs report indicates that in July of 2013, the sector added a considerable 3,900 jobs. These numbers are even more significant when you factor into this equation that the employment numbers in competing sectors, such as in nursing homes, hospitals and other care facilities, continue to decline.

As Americans continue to age, the home healthcare industry is booming corresponding to the increase in demand. In fact, the overall growth in the entire health sector—which the BLS reported as 2,500 jobs—is largely the result of the surge in senior home care services. Otherwise, the health industry would have experienced a loss of approximately two thousand jobs.

This increase in the demand for elderly home care services is expected to continue, as seniors overwhelmingly prefer home care to the alternatives. Based on one analysis by the strategists of the acclaimed Avalere Health company, jobs in the home care sector will grow at a rate 5.5 times more quickly than all non-farm industries over the next several years. Considering that many sectors are in a stage of steep decline, economists are looking at home care agencies with a hopeful eye.

Not only are home healthcare services the preferred option for seniors, they are consistently found to be cost-effective and even adhere to higher clinical standards. There was a time when safe treatment was relegated to nursing homes and hospitals, but with recent technological advancements, quality home care is a viable alternative for an increasing number of Americans.

  3. Seniors like to live in the comforts of their own homes. Homescare is the best solution in such situations as more and more people prefer it.

  4. I would agree that the trend will continue for home health care. I think the stories of abuse at nursing homes have really helped to drive this trend along with the idea that there is no place like home.

  13. Elderly Care at Home is a good option. Most Seniors prefer to stay at home because they feel comfortable, independent and secure in familiar surroundings.Their family can support by modifying the house as per requirement so that seniors can move around safely.Home care is also cost effective.

  17. Senior home care services are one consequence of the aging population. Average lifespan is long than ever. Sons and daughters, even grandchildren, are going to have to learn the nursing trade in order to help meet this growing need.

  18. I think many of the elderly choose to have home care instead of nursing home care because they want to feel more comfortable. It allows them to stay in their home as they have their whole life, and also receive specific treatment and care. I am getting ready to get home health care for my grandmother who is in need of some health care at home. http://www.hisgriphomecare.com

  19. I really like the idea of home care for seniors. Some seniors are unable to live by themselves, but are too independent for a nursing home. Home care helps them to live on their own. http://comforcare.com/colorado/denver

  22. I'm so glad that senior care is growing. Seniors deserve a lot of attention considering how much they have to deal with. My grandma wants to have home care services now that her health is declining. Hopefully we can find a good service for her! http://www.comforcare.com/california/san-gabriel-valley

  23. I agree that home senior care is the most cost effective option. My mother has built a collection of items and memories in her home. I would feel horrible moving her out of it and putting her in a home. Home care is a great option because she would get the attention she needs but still be able to be independent and stay close to family and friends in the area.

  24. It is interesting that home care industry is increasing. It does seem like more people prefer to stay at home rather than live at a retirement center. My Grandparents are getting older and need help with their day to day routines. It seems like they are more willing to have in home care than more to a retirement community. http://www.comforcare.com/indiana/south-indy

  26. Homecare and Healthcare Staffing- TLC Nursing Associates, Inc & TLC Homecare services in Vermont & New Hampshire

Care givers are one of the most important aspects of in-home care as they interact with the clients on a daily basis and ensure that the clients are well taken care of. As important as it is to have qualified, caring and experienced caregivers in Vermont and New Hampshire at TLC Homecare; it is just as important finding the correct caregiver for each homecare client. Home healthcare is all about keeping clients in a safe and comfortable environment as they age and the caregivers have everything to do with this. But just because a caregiver has years of experience, it does not mean their personality or skill set will match that of the homecare client they are working with. It is my job to play “match-maker” to ensure the client, client’s family and caregiver are all happy with the home health aide.
The process of choosing the correct caregiver fora homecare client starts the minute that new client comes on board with TLC Homecare. As soon as they choose TLC Homecare as their in-home health care provider, I look to see where the client is located which allows me to narrow down which pool of caregivers to choose from. I then take a look to see what home care hours are needed as this allows me to narrow the pool of caregivers down even further since some caregivers are looking for a lot of in-home healthcare hours, while others are looking for fewer hours. The final step is to find out important information about the homecare client. Does the client have any special needs that only certain caregivers are able t deal with? Do they enjoy certain activities? Do they have a preference when it comes to males or females?
Once all of these things are taken into consideration I contact the caregiver that we feel would be the best fit and see if they are interested in working with the homecare client. The caregiver then begins to work with that client and we hope that it is a good match. Typically, if it is not a good match personality wise or skill wise, we will hear about it quickly from either the caregiver or the client’s family. Our overall goal is to ensure that each client gets to age happily in the comfort of their own home. We want all of your clients to have the following experience when everything is said and done:
“TLC’s wonderful staff was tremendously helpful in supporting us in having my father home on hospice. They were amazingly flexible, going the extra mile on numerous occasions to fit around our schedule. The individual caregivers were skilled, patient and caring. We never would have been able to do this without TLC, and it meant so much to my father.”
With that said, it is not always guaranteed to be a good match between the caregiver and the homecare client, but TLC Homecare will do whatever it takes to ensure each client ends up with a caregiver they are happy with. It is a bit of a puzzle, but thanks to our wonderful in-home healthcare aides we are able to eventually match each one of our clients with a qualified, caring and experienced caregiver. http://www.tlcnursing.com

  37. For those people whose relative are suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease and maybe reading this, I find it hard that people are still ignorant of herbal medicine when it comes to treating Alzheimer’s Disease.
I have been through many phases over the last couple of years since my father's diagnosis, he was 53 years old and had Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease and his diagnosis changed my life in many ways, I spend most of the time in denial and I keep thinking the tests were wrong. But deep down I knew they were correct. Though sharing his story is very difficult. He was always very successful in being able to accomplish anything he set his mind on doing. Alzheimer’s is a bitch of a disease. It began by robbing his recent memory, but it didn't stop there. It continues to steal, taking the most recent memories until it has pilfered all but the oldest memories, he experienced a decline in his ability to think, remember and make decisions. I feel a need to express my thoughts and feelings about how it affected his day to day living and how its deteriorated since despite the help of some wonderful medics and medicine.
I remind myself how lucky to come across Charanjit rychtova's herbal medicine which is able to control this disease without any side effect, I felt a moment of relief hoping that he is free from this ailment, and nothing compares to the healing power of nature. Now I believe almost every health problem can be addressed in one natural way or another. The only thing I wanted was for him to feel better. I’m proud to say my Dad is Alzheimer’s free. You can also contact him for advice and more info. charantova@gmail.com
